Zion Canyon is a place of rare beauty. It is even more rare to see it's many waterfalls flowing. Usually, the only waterfalls the visitor sees are those at Emerald Pools. During rainstorms many more falls appear. It is even more rare to see these additional falls with a blue sky above them. This is because a combination of high snow levels followed very quickly by high temperatures are required to get most of these falls to run for even a day. The photos below were taken by Steve Schmorleitz on just such a day, January 12th, 2005. Click on each image to see a larger image.
