Zion National Park

The amount of water in the park can greatly influence the park's appearance. The two photos to the right are a great example. Both photos are of Weeping Rock alcove from approximately the same vantage point. The upper photo shows Weeping Rock on a typical fall day. The lower photo shows a rushing waterfall plunging over the same alcove. During rainstorms, flash flooding, or unusually heavy snow melt, many waterfalls suddenly appear and then disappear just as quickly. Click here to see a rare display of temporary waterfalls in Zion.
