In this close-up photo of the Half Dome, you can see hundreds of people climbing the cables.  This photo was taken on a Saturday in early summer.  We last took this hike by moonlight on a Friday night, Saturday morning.  This was a great way to avoid the crowds, even during the summer months.  When we got to the cables, right at sunrise, there was no one else there.

Bears are prevalent in the park.  We saw this one as we climbed the forested ridge just past Little Yosemite Valley
