Spectacular 1,612 foot Ribbon Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in the world, but it disappears quickly in the summer due to a relatively small watershed. It is most impressive from late March through May. It falls off a cliff next to El Capitan, on the opposite side of the valley from Bridalveil Falls. As you can see from the images on this page, there are many points in the park to view the falls, but the best is probably just past Bridalveil Falls along Southside Drive at road marker V14 (as viewed in the photo below). |

Ribbon Fall runs only during heavy snow melt. It is best viewed in late spring or early summer. |
