Timpanogos Cave
National Monument

The National Park Service will schedule your cave tour at least 1.5 hours after the time of you pick up your tickets from the visitor center.  The trail is very steep, but most people can make it to the top if they hike it at a slow pace.  The required 1.5 hour time span between ticket pick-up and the cave tour start time allows ample time to reach the cave entrance; even at a very slow pace.

As monument visitors climb to the cave entrance, they are treated to incredible views of American Fork Canyon far below.  The elevation gain during this 1.5 mile hike is over 1,000 feet.  Expect to take 1.5 hours to reach the cave entrance.

Finally, at the end of the trail, there's a sheltered waiting area outside the cave entrance.  There are no restrooms or water here.  The is a restroom several 100 yards before you reach this shelter.  Visitors leave the cave through a different entrance, or should we say, exit.
