The American Camp visitor center serves year-round as the primary contact station for the park. The park is open daily during the summer, but only Wednesday through Sunday the rest of the year. Click here for current days and hours. During summer season, ranger-guided history walks, nature programs and orientations are available. Archaeological exhibits with artifacts from American and English camps are on shown. There's also the Treaty of Oregon display, historical photo murals, Find a Plant display and a "Pig War" orientation program on DVD. The center has books, souvenirs and postcards for sale. There's a picnic area with tables, full-service restrooms, and a water fountain (the water has a high sodium content, so bottled water also is for sale). |
