The Alpine Visitor center is located at Fall River
Pass at the junction of Trail Ridge and Old Fall River roads. At an
elevation of 11,796 feet above sea level, the pass marks the highest point
for a paved through road in the contiguous 48 states.
The Alpine Visitor Center is open depending on weather
and road conditions. It is closed in winter.
Visitors can go for a ranger-led walk in the Land
Above the Trees and see exhibits on the alpine tundra. There is a
substantial Bookstore and Gift Shop here. There is also a Snack Shop and
faboulous observation area. Accessible restrooms and vault toilets
are available.
