This 0.4 mile loop trail begins behind the Twin Firs, thus its name. It parallels the road a few feet before gradually climbing uphill. It's a trek into a section of old-growth forest with nurse logs, several pretty little streams and beautiful stands of Western hemlock, Western red cedar and Douglas fir. The trail then descends back to the start. The trailhead is about 2 miles west of Longmire. The hike takes about 20 minutes. |
