Trail of the Shadows

The Shadows Loop trail begins directly across the highway from the National Park Inn, elevation 2,757 feet. Booklets that describe the numbered features along the trail are located at the trailheads. To follow the booklet, begin counterclockwise on the loop. The trail continues through dense forest.

In the center of the loop is a marshy meadow with active beaver dams and opportunities to identify many of the 126 bird species native to this area.
