Lighthouse
The lighthouse is 300 steps down the
cliff from the visitor center. The historic Point Reyes
Lighthouse, built in 1870, was retired from service in 1975
The Lighthouse is
located on the rocky promontory of the Point Reyes Headlands. The
visitor center has exhibits on whales, wildflowers and lighthouses. It is
a 0.4-mile walk from the parking area. The lighthouse is 300 steps down
the cliff from the visitor center. The
historic light
contains the original first-order Fresnel lens and still operational
clockworks. The lighthouse is an
great place to observe marine life.
