Horseshoe Group

The trail to Hackberry Canyon is a one mile round trip walk that includes the ruins at Horseshoe and Hackberry.  The structures at these sites were built around 800 years ago.

The concentrations of structures at both Horseshoe and Hackberry show the importance of water to the people who lived here.  Large multi-story pueblos and towers are located at canyon heads with seeps and springs.  There is still water seeping from the springs at both locations today.
