Hagerman Fossil Beds is internationally significant because it protects the world's richest late Pliocene epoch fossil deposits.  There are over 220 species of plants and animals!

The fossil bed gives us a glimpse of life before the last Ice Age and views of the earliest appearance of modern plants and animals.
