Inside Tao House
The Parlor and Pantry

In this Parlor the Eugene would sit and listen to the radio or his player piano

During World War II, Eugene would listen to the radio and study the world map to keep in touch with what was happening with his friends who were in the military.

The player piano (which he named Rosie) reminded him of the bars he had frequented during heavy-drinking days.  He enjoyed listening to Rosie.  His wife Carlotta Monterey would often encourage him to listen to it, because it would help encourage him to stay away from liquor.

In the pantry there are three rows of shelving and  drawers like the ones shown here How'd you like to have a pantry this large?
