The Visitor Center includes an excellent museum with fairly extensive exhibits.  It's open daily except Christmas from 8:00-5:00.  There is also an information counter, a book store, rest rooms, drinking fountains, and a wheelchair is available.

Petroglyphs - Designs pecked into rock surfaces are called petroglyphs.
