Swamp Canyon is relatively small and sheltered compared with some of the other park views.  The canyon is bordered on both sides by hoodoos and fins.  There are two connecting trails that lead to the Under-the-Rim Trail that start at this overlook.  The combina two connecting trails to walk the 4.3 mile Swamp Canyon Loop Trail.
