The National Park Service encourages visitors to start their auto tour of Bryce Canyon National Park by driving directly to the very southern end first.  As you look back to the north from Rainbow Point the whole park stretches out before you.  From the same parking lot is access to Yovimpa Point which offers great and distant views of virtually the whole Grand Staircase plateau system.
