Boca Chita Key

Boca Chita is a small island that is located approximately approximately 9 miles from Convoy Point.  Boca Chita used to be privately owned.  The owner (Mark C. Honeywell) was preparing the island for his own private use until his wife was fatally injured on the island.   She later passed away; and he found the memories too painful to continue to work on developing the property.

At Boca Chita the water is clear, the fish are plentiful, the location is beautiful, and facilities are well kept and clean.

The lighthouse here was never really used as an actual lighthouse, but simply to perform an ornamental function.  There isn't, even a light in the tower. More on the light house
