Visitors looking for a great example of what Arches National Park is all about will enjoy the Devils Garden Trail. There are seven distinct arches, lengthy slick rock benches, and vast panoramic views. It's truly a visually stunning landscape! The hike is can be either 6.75 or 8 miles long, depending on whether or not you choose to hike the so-called Primitive Trail. The Primitive Trail can be confusing and hikers can be easily lost. It is very, very, important to take much more water and to allow much more time than you usually would allow for a trail of this length. There is only one named arch, Private Arch, that is accessed by a spur trail off the Primitive Trail. All other arches can be viewed from the main Devil's Garden Trail or one of it's well-maintained spur trails. The distances quoted above include utilizing the spur trails. |
