The above view is from the Delicate Arch Viewpoint Trail.  This trail does not lead to the base of Delicate Arch.  It leads only to the view above.  This is a short, 100 yard, level trail.  From this trail there is an additional moderately strenuous 1/2 mile spur trail that ends at the rim of a steep canyon that separates the viewpoint from the arch.

If you want to go to Delicate Arch itself, you must take the Delicate Arch Trail which starts at a completely different parking lot.  The 3 mile round trip trail to the arch starts at the Wolfe Ranch parking area.  The rest of the photos on this page capture the landscape along the Delicate Arch Trail itself.

Wolf Ranch

Towards the end of the trail, you will start up an incline with a fairly steep cliff to the left.  Look towards the end of the canyon below and you will see this small arch.

The second rock bump from the right is the top of Delicate Arch.
